Where & When Do You Like To Write??

Now that you are on the road to collecting your ideas in one place, it’s time to move on and set yourself up so that you can start writing something everyday using those ideas.  Figuring out where you feel most comfortable to write is important because it will help your productivity. I know some writers who have to work in the same space every day or else it throws off their creative flow.  For others, their work space could change from day to day because they feel it depends on their mood at the time they are able to sit down and work. For these writers, nothing is set in stone. Your workspace is for you to decide so that you can get the most out of your time spent writing. The other thing that goes along with where you are able to do your best work is when you do you best work.  Are you an early morning person, a night owl or someone in between?  It really depends on what time of day you are most productive. In addition, it also can depend on when you have the time to sit d

Collecting your thoughts!! ๐Ÿ“–

A helpful suggestion I always pass along to anyone possibly interested in writing is to start a collection space for thoughts and ideas that pop into your head.  I was given this suggestion a long time ago myself and have found it to be a very useful tool. I am old school and still have a spiral notebook where I gather these tidbits of information that come to me so I don’t forget them.  Sometimes ideas will bug me until I get them out of my head and onto paper. Today’s technology allows people to create their collection spaces in so many different ways, they have the flexibility to collect things on whatever device or application works best for them.  These tidbits could eventually lead to the basis for a story so having them all in one place is really helpful. You should make notes in your collection space so they make sense to you. This space is yours and yours alone. Some of the things I have collected in my notebook are:   - names of possible characters or places

An Online Book Review: The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living: A Novel by Louise Miller

The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living: A Novel by Louise Miller This is a great story! It has a diverse group of characters who work well together in the story, all of their lives being intertwined with each other.  After reading about Louise Miller on her Author Page, I found it fun how she and her main character have some of the same interests. Salty was definitely one of my favorite characters.  Looking forward to reading her next book when it comes out next month. Check it out on  Amazon

Write A Review to Help Authors & Readers

Many people start reading a book, finish it and put it on a bookshelf or archive it on their e-reader without giving it another thought.  What many people don’t realize is that there is one more step authors and other readers hope is taken between finishing it and forgetting about it.  That step is writing an online book review. Ok, no groaning, I know writing reviews for anything is one of everyone’s least favorite things to do. There are two reasons for a review to be written and posted online.   The first reason is that reviews give feedback to other readers so they know whether the book is worth reading or if people should not waste their time with it.  Of course, everything is personal preference, but reading what others say can help you determine whether or not it’s something you are actually interested in. The second reason is reviews give feedback to the author letting them know what readers think of their book.  Most people don’t realize how helpful reviews are to

Sharing My Enjoyable Reads

I have been building a list of books that I consider to all be Enjoyable Reads.  I have made a page here on my website to share this list with you. I see it as a wide variety of genres and themes which probably has something for most people. Reading should be important to everyone in general.  I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. Looking at the length of this list, I definitely have read a lot over the years.  It seems that in today’s society with everyone having a crazy, busy schedule, no one has or takes the time to make reading a regular part of their daily lives.  For many people today, the extent of their reading doesn’t go beyond Tweets, Facebook Posts or Snapchats. That is a very sad realization because of all the benefits reading has for all of us.   We can use reading to: - reduce stress by giving us a break from our life for a few minutes, if that’s all we have to spare - stimulate our brains by making us think about something other than wha
